In the first exhibition of \u201cThe Triangle\u201d series, we are pleased to present Kito Kengo, an artist active both in Japan and overseas.
\nAs an artist with a wealth of experience and imagination who specializes in large-scale spatial composition, he conceived an exhibition of an installation, including new works within it, in the hope that they would provide inspiration for the next generation of artists.
\nKito, who has distinguished himself since the 2000s and is known for colorful installations created by putting together materials found in everyday life, says that he still continues to engage in experiences with colors and perspectives of light by always coming back to \u201cpainting.\u201d In this exhibition, he creates a unique microcosmos in the gallery space with an installation composed of items including hanging mobiles, fluorescent lamps and glittering plated rocks visible through transparent colored glass, in addition to a \u201cpainting\u201d work composed of multilayered bricolage on canvas.
\nTogether with ghost flowers<\/i> at the northwest entrance (on view until May 31) and a public artwork untitled (hula-hoop)<\/i> in the main building Atrium (April 14 to July 12), we hope you enjoy the world of Kito Kengo that is brimming with ultimate lightness and filled with colors and light.<\/p>\n

About \u201cThe Triangle\u201d<\/strong><\/big>
\n\u201cThe Triangle\u201d is a space that is newly created on the occasion of the renewal opening of the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art. Our aim is for it to become a venue to nurture emerging artists, centered on artists associated with Kyoto, and to provide an opportunity for museum visitors to experience contemporary art.
